bye bye basement

After a few adjustments and framings, a floor was began:



No more words needed....


Presto, half of the main floor is finished.

I bet you could watch that animation all night and find all sorts of interesting details. Just watch the glue bottles disappear one bottle at a time. (bottom left)

Today included the general fastening around the trusses... leveling, lining, nailing, securing, ect.

If weather permits, perhaps some floor sheets will be installed tomorrow.

Basement walls

The rest of this week was spent building the main basement walls. (outer, and middle mainframe

Today we received the floor trusses, which will be hoisted via crane and installed on Monday.

Begin: Framing

Last week's lack of postings was due to the weather, the concrete pouring and my hiatus to neighboring cities.

Here's what happened:
We built the form for the porch steps foundation:

This week began the wood framing work. First we received some of the lumber:


Beginning the wall building for the outer basement walls:


Marking the lower and upper 2x4's for stud/jack placement: (the lower is treated)

First segment is stood up and set into place:
